Bill Carroll
Head Coach, Bill
Carroll, grew up
in the Tampa Bay area of Florida were he competed for
the Brandon Blue Wave Swim Team. He won numerous
State and Junior Olympic Championships, and during his
high school career he was a 3 time High School
All-American. He attended the University of Florida and
received a degree in accounting and finance. Following
college, Bill received a commission in the United States
Navy. He spent the last 5 years of active duty service
as a member of the Navy SEAL’S, and was stationed at
Little Creek, Virginia.
Bill has been coaching is Las
Vegas since 1994. First with the Las Vegas Gold
and then as Head Age Group Coach for Team Rebel
Aquatics. While in that position he led his team
to 4 top 6 finishes at the Southern California Junior
Olympics. Following the summer of 2000, Bill
started Desert Storm Swimming. In his various
positions, Bill had coached 1 Olympic Trials Qualifier,
143 Nevada State Age Group Champions, 50 Southern
California Junior Olympic Champions and 63 National Top
16 winners. Six of
those swimmers ended the year being ranked 1st
in the nation. On the high school level, Bill has
coached 18 High School All-Americans and 25 Nevada High
School State Champions. Additionally, he has coached
over 50 Junior National Qualifiers and several US Open
and Senior National qualifiers.

Sara Carroll
With the
exception of the 2 years she spent in Australia,
Assistant Head and Senior Coach, Sara
Carroll, grew up in the Kansas City area. Sara later attended
the University of Arizona earning a degree in Spanish as
well as a Master in Bilingual Reading. She had been a
teacher in Nevada, Arizona and California. In addition
to swimming, Sara has coached soccer as well as track
and field. Since 1981 Sara has coached swimming first
with Boulder City Henderson and then with Team Rebel
Aquatics. Sara joined the staff of Desert Storm in
September 2000. Her swimmers have won 13 Nevada State
Age Group Championships. In addition, she has had
several swimmers reach finals for the Junior Olympic
Championships as well as the National Top 16 list. Sara
is also the Head Coach for Boulder City High School were
her boy’s have won 3 Nevada State Team Championships.
During her tenure, she has coached over 50 High School
All-Americans. She has been voted Sunrise Coach of the
Year on 8 different occasions.

Hollee
Garcia
Head Age Group
Coach, Hollee Garcia, is
a Utah native where she was a competitive swimmer.
She actually traveled to Las Vegas on several occasions
to swim in local meets. Hollee later attended Utah
State University where she graduated with a degree in
Accounting.
She has
logged many miles traveling the world with her 3
children and her husband, Navy Lt. Commander Karl. Her
most recent coaching experience was with the Spartan
Aquatic Club in Jacksonville, Florida. Hollee’s
duties included coaching the top age group swimmers as
well as assisting with the
Senior/National and Junior Groups.

Amanda Warren
Assistant Coach, Amanda Warren, was a competitive
swimmer for Durango High School and swam for Desert
Storm for 3 years. In addition to her duties for DSS,
Amanda also teaches group and private lessons at various
levels, and she coaches the summer leagues for the City
of Las Vegas. Currently, Amanda is a student at UNLV
studying Physical Therapy with a minor in Child
Development.

Chris Godwin
Assistant Coach, Chris
Godwin, is a former member of the National Group for
Desert Storm. Chris swam the butterfly and sprint
free events, and was a valuable member of numerous
relays over the last 5 years of his career. He is
currently a member of the Team record setting 200 Free
Relay.
During
his career, Chris had numerous top 8 finishes at the
Nevada State Meet, and he represented Desert Storm at
the 2005 Junior Nationals held in Orlando, Florida.
He was a 4 time MVP for Western High School, and he was
a 3 time qualifier for the Nevada State High School
Championships. During the 2004 season, Chris Placed 1st
in the 50 and 100 free at the Sunset Regional
Championships.
Chris is
currently enrolled at UNLV, and he will be assisting
both the High School and the National Training Groups.
